My name is Sawni and i live in Rajiv Nagar basti. I am from the Paardee community and our work is segregating plastic waste. When I used to watch movies before, I imagined that this is the normal light that exists around us. But when we saw the film 'Turup' being shot, we realised that a scene has to be lit, dramatically. That's when a movie looks beautiful. Since then, I have been interested in lighting. I have done work in the light department of two films now, thanks to the Ektara Collective. I want to learn light design for films now, but practically, not in theory alone.
